You may have seen that we've updated the ban list: Good Vibes Only (GVO) is no longer legal in competitive play, as of August 31st, 2026.

However, Good Vibes Only is included in the Birb & Pengu Red Starter Deck. Since one of our core goals is to keep every starter deck legal and playable right out of the box, we're carving out a specific exception:

The Birb & Pengu Red Starter Deck remains tournament legal with Good Vibes Only included — but only in its unmodified, as-sold configuration.

The moment you swap a single card in or out of that deck, GVO is no longer legal for you to play. At that point, the ban applies exactly like it does everywhere else and Good Vibes Only must come out.

Why we're doing it this way

We want new players to be able to pick up a starter deck and jump straight into sanctioned play without needing to make changes on day one. We want Vibes to be as accessible as possible to new players.
