Card Ban: Pack Attack is Banned from Competitive Play

Pack Attack is Banned from Competitive Play
Vibes TCG Competitive Update (October 2025)
The world of Vibes is growing fast! Maybe too fast for one little card to keep up.
Pack Attack, a beloved and exciting card, has officially been banned from competitive (physical and digital) play effective Oct 20, 2025 (post-Houston SCGCON).

Why is it Banned?
As Legend of the Lils was designed, Pack Attack was designed as a fun and flavorful nod to what makes this community special: the thrill of cracking packs and discovering something new. It quickly became a player favorite, both for gameplay flavor and the joy of opening and collecting cards.
But as Vibes has grown, the real-world demand for packs and boxes has skyrocketed! Booster boxes have become hard to find, and pack openings have evolved from a simple action to a premium experience. This created an awkward situation and unintended economical advantage for players who could afford to open multiple packs just to play this card competitively.
And while that’s a great sign for the health and excitement of the Vibes ecosystem, it’s not the kind of advantage we ever want in competitive play.
What This Means
Effective Oct 20, 2025, after SCGCON Houston, Pack Attack is banned from all official Vibes tournaments, online ranked play, and competitive events.
However, it remains fully playable in casual formats, creator games, and friendly play sessions.
We believe this change helps preserve the spirit of competition which is skill, strategy, and creativity without tying any part of the game to real-world scarcity.
What This Says About the Community
This moment isn’t about loss, it’s about growth. The fact that Pack Attack became too powerful to remain legal says something incredible about you, the players:
Packs are selling out.
The secondary market is thriving.
Players are building, collecting, and playing in record numbers.
The Vibes universe is expanding faster than ever, and the community’s enthusiasm is shaping the future of the game in real time.
Looking Forward
We’ll continue to keep an eye on how Vibes evolves as new cards, sets, and formats enter the mix. Updates like this one are a natural part of building a thriving competitive ecosystem that’s fair, exciting, and sustainable.
Thank you for continuing to support, play, trade, and vibe with us.
